EVENT 27  Developing Writing Skills 1 

Process writing: working through specific stages of the writing process

1. Prewriting: the planning and idea-gathering stage. 

2. Drafting: it refers to the time spent writing a rough draft. Record your ideas on paper, with less concern for accuracy and more concern for documenting your thoughts about the topic.

3. Revising: reread your work! Make changes, if necessary. To further improve your writing this process can be repeated many times. 

4. Editing: correcting mechanical errors such as grammar and punctuation. 

5. Publishing or sharing: turning in the completed writing assignment to your professor!
