Work with a partner. Discuss some of the ideas below; then share your ideas with the class!

 

-How do advertisers convince people to buy products? 

-Do they sometimes convince you to buy things you don’t need?

-Which advertisements in your country do you like most? Why?

-Discuss problems that you think advertisers might have if they want to sell a product in different countries.

-Are there any laws that advertisers must follow?

 

 

For this project, we are going to work in different groups of students.

 

Group 1: A leading world company

 

You are this leading world company which is interested in purchasing advertising services from advertising agencies. Before requesting the first meeting with the advertisement agencies you have to agree on:

 

-the area you are operating;

-traditional or modern company;

-local or global operation;

-the product you want to advertise;

-target: the public you want to reach;

-budget;

-any other information you might consider important.

 

 

Groups 2, 3, and 4: Advertisement agencies

 

 

You are one of the world’s biggest advertisers yet forging ahead to consolidating still more its portfolio. Before the first meeting to introduce the company to your client you should:

 

 

-Analyze your present and potential markets;

-Prepare your portfolio;


 When creating the campaign consider:

 

-available media and means that can be profitably used to advertise the product;

-prepare and submit, for approval, estimates of costs of the recommended advertising program;

-write, design, illustrate, produce or otherwise prepare your advertisement, including a commercial to be broadcast;

-video-record the commercial;

-order the space, time, or other means to be used for the advertising, endeavoring to secure the most advantageous rates available;

-properly incorporate instructions for the fulfillment of the campaign;

-state the commission and taxes;

-browse the Internet for some methods used in persuasive advertising;

-use one of these methods or some of them in combination in your commercial.

 

Remember that: good ideas are still a powerful currency!

 

 

We are supposed to have 2 meetings.

 

Meeting 1

-The company interested in purchasing advertising introduces the company, its product, and presents the request.

-The advertisement agencies introduce their agencies, staff, and portfolio.

 

Meeting 2

This meeting is intended for the presentation of the campaign to the client.

 

Meeting 3

In this meeting, the company will announce the winning campaign.
